Leading By Example
David Brower, elder statesman of the ecology movement and
former Sierra Club Executive Director
and the founder of Friends of the Earth and the Earth Island Institute
has done it again! The arch-druid of environmentalism has republished
the book, "Let the Mountains Talk, Let the Rivers Run" using 100% kenaf
tree-free paper. He even talks about kenaf and the role it can play in
restoring the earth. This book is a must read and can be obtained from
the Earth Island Institute, 300 Broadway, Suite 28, San Francisco, CA
94133. To order directly from the publisher send $14.95 plus $4.00 shipping

The four-color design work is outstanding
(thank you t-squared design - tsquared@hotbot.com), and the publication
is a perfect example of corporate commitment to doing the right thing.
We do not have any extra copies to give away, but if you contact Sheila
Voth at sheila.voth@motorola.com maybe you can talk her into sending you
a copy.
Energy Adds Energy
Even the United States Department of Energy is getting
into the act. As a part of their push for Environmentally Preferable
Purchasing, they printed the "You Can Make A Difference" posters on Re:Vision
kenaf/recycled paper. The posters were distributed to DOE facilities nationwide.
DOE has also published the long awaited "Pollution Prevention Reduces
Waste, Saves Money, and minimizes our footprint on the Earth" publication
on kenaf paper.
Bob Masse Art
The Green House Network (www.greenhousenet.org) based in
Oregon put together an Earthday 2000 event in Portland that included "The
World Can't Wait: Run To Stop Global Warming…Earth Race 2000." The memorial
poster is memorable indeed. Created
