Yo, Check it out!
In our December 1995 Vision Paper News ( www. visionpaper, com/
newsletters/Jan95-1.html) we shouted about timber thefts in SWT (southwest
Texas), and how kenaf would squelch the problem. Seven years later -
worse. In Mexico, President Fox says deforestations' a "national security"
problem. Raids against illegal logging operations, loggers shooting at
forestry vehicles and officials, and buzz that gunmen murdered an activist
for interfering in timber biz are reportedly fact. The Mexican National
Forestry Commission chief says illegal logging is a billion dollar a year
industry. That's big money! And speaking of money, in Brazil, feds
protecting Amazon rainforests are busted for taking bribes from a timber
company.
Stateside, the timber machine came up in another kind of crime. In North
Carolina 22,999 marijuana plants (who counted them?) were seized on land
owned by a timber company. There

trees in what you thought were your
national forests. Contrary to what a
reasonably intelligent person might think,
the mere fact that there are trees on your
public lands does not mean that you, the
public, actually own them.
So how does kenaf prevent crime? Simple, if you use kenaf to make paper
instead of trees, the profits of illegal timber will disappear.

get approached for donations from very
worthy causes almost on a daily basis. It is not
possible for us to donate paper to
